Dry brushing is always done on dry skin prior to going into the shower. Start at your ankles and move up your body. Brush your skin using long strokes upwards. If you’re new to dry brushing, use extremely light pressure, especially in areas where your skin is thin. Brush your arms after you’ve brushed your legs and mid-section (and don’t forget your behind!). For best results, follow your shower with the MIFA - All Over Skin Dew | or MIFA - All - Over Oil |

INSPIRATION
"From my younger years, I recall my mother's dedicated use of the 'keeseh,' a Persian exfoliating glove. But first, there was always a mandatory 15-minute soak to prep my skin, so that the keeseh could do its magic. We recognized the significance of including an exfoliating glove to complement our body wash and body oil, but we opted for a dry brush due to its remarkable simplicity and the elimination of any elaborate skin preparation." —Fatemah, Co-Founder
KEY INGREDIENTS
The Detox Body Brush is made with a beechwood handle and natural, biodegradable sisal fibres from the Mexican agave cactus.
How To Clean Your Sisal Dry Body Brush
The bristles of your dry body brush need to be washed depending on how often you use it. It should be weekly if you use it daily or every 2-3 weeks if you use it occasionally.
FOR IN-BETWEEN USES
- You can spray with a tea tree oil solution.
- Mix 1 part tea tree oil, and 2 parts water into a spray bottle.
- Spray the bristles after each use and lay down to dry.
CLEANING THE BRUSH
- Fill a shallow bowl with warm water. (ie level to just to half of the bristles)
- Add three drops of tea tree oil to the water.
- Place the brush into the bowl of water moving the bristles around to rinse the dead cells and dirt.
- Soak it for a few minutes.
- Repeat with a clean bowl of warm water to rinse.
- Shake the excess water from the brush.
- Lay the brush face down (bristles down) onto a dry towel. Let it air dry. (not in direct sunlight) You want the bristles to dry properly because bacteria growth can occur when it’s damp.
Note: The wood base should not come into contact with water when cleaning your dry brush. This may cause it to crack or rot.
As best friends and mamas, we know how challenging it can be to maintain balance which is why self-care is so important to us. It can simply mean ten minutes of deep breathing and meditation, taking a hot shower, or using products that make you feel good inside and out.
The more research we did the more we realized that we couldn’t find products that were truly 100% natural, effective, without any synthetic ingredients, or added fragrances. We believe that what you put on your skin is as important as how you feel in your skin, and often those two things are mutually exclusive, contributing to one another.
Wanting to become part of the natural beauty conversation as more than just consumers, we both left our corporate careers to create our own conscious collection of clean beauty. The brand is designed to offer a truly natural self-care experience that not only nourishes your skin, but also offers aromatherapeutic benefits that encourage self-care.
